Alton Jerome ''Jerry'' Aycock, Jr., 54, of Roanoke Rapids, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Jerry was a native of Halifax County, the son of the late Alton Jerome Aycock, Sr. and Mamie Lucille Harlow Aycock. He was also preceded in death by his aunts, Aileen Hux and Ginny Bliss, and his uncles, Dan Aycock, Jack Aycock, Van Aycock, Percy Aycock, Wayne Aycock, and Roy Harlow.

He was the manager of Ihrie Supply Company where he has been a faithful employee for over 30 years.

He is survived by his sister, Shari Aycock and Alvin Lyles; his brother, Terry Lee Aycock, all of Roanoke Rapids; his aunts, Emily Bass and her husband, Sammy, and Jane Dennis and her husband, Tony, all of Rocky Mount, NC, Sue Bunish of Charlottesville, VA, Julia Aycock of Whitakers, and Mary Aycock of McLean, VA; his uncles, James Harlow of Sevierville, TN, David Aycock and his wife, Virginia, of Enfield, and Tommy Aycock and his wife, Cotrisha, of Elizabeth City; and numerous cousins.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. and other times at 746 Charlotte Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
